Is it better to exercise before or after a breast fat transfer?

Q: “Im 21 years old. My weight is 105 and my height is 5ft Do I qualify to get a breast fat transfer? I want to exercise but im scared that the fat would be replaced by the muscle that I build. should I wait to exercise after the procedure. I want to have enough fat. most of my fat is in my legs and butt.”

carlasolis, Los Angeles, CA

Dr. Yovino’s Answer:It’s best to be as stable as possible. This includes regular exercise before and then 2 weeks after the transfer. The key is to have enough stable fat. Given your provided numbers, it’s likely that you have enough for about 1/2 cup increase. You must visit an experienced breast fat transfer surgeon. Only an in person evaluation will result in the best estimate.
