Armpit Liposuction

Permanently eliminate stubborn underarm fat deposits and restore sleek, toned contours with PRECISION SCULPT® Awake Liposuction. Designed to target localized fullness in the axillary hollow that resists diet and exercise, this specialized procedure extracts unwanted fat directly under local anesthesia. With no general anesthesia, no large scars, and no drains. Say goodbye to armpit bulging in sleeveless tops and swimsuits.

What is Armpit Fullness?

Armpit fullness (axillary fat bulging) refers to localized tissue accumulation in and around the underarm vault. It commonly pinches, bunches, or spills over the edges of bras, tank tops, swimwear, and fitted dresses, even in individuals who are fit and at an ideal body weight.

Anatomically, underarm fullness can consist of:

  • Subcutaneous Axillary Adipose Tissue: Stubborn fat pockets embedded in fibrous connective tissue within the axilla.

  • Accessory (Ectopic) Axillary Breast Tissue: Glandular breast tissue (the axillary tail of Spence) that extends into the armpit along the embryonic milk line. This glandular component can fluctuate in swelling, sensitivity, or fullness with hormonal and menstrual cycles.

  • Junction with Front Bra Rolls: Tissue extending across the lateral border of the pectoralis major muscle toward the anterior shoulder.

What is Precision Sculpt® Armpit Liposculpture?

PRECISION SCULPT® Armpit Liposculpture is our safe, precise, awake procedure designed to sculpt and flatten the underarm area, creating a smooth, natural transition from the chest wall into the upper arm.

We understand how frustrating persistent armpit bulges can be. Many patients feel self-conscious lifting their arms or wearing sleeveless styles, spaghetti straps, or sports bras because of pinching and chafing. Because axillary fat is genetically and hormonally driven, upper-body workouts and strict diets rarely eliminate it.

Whether you want to wear halter tops and backless gowns with total confidence, stop bra straps from digging in, or simply enjoy a streamlined upper-body silhouette, we can help.

How is Armpit Liposculpture Performed?

Precision Sculpt® of the armpits is performed with the patient awake and relaxed. No general anesthesia is ever needed.

Relaxation medication is given by mouth, and the area is fully numbed with local anesthesia using a tumescent technique.

  • Incisions: The procedure uses tiny incisions placed discreetly in the armpit crease. There are no long incisions and no drains.

  • Tissue Removal: Both fat and breast tissue are removed when present. Fat is removed layer by layer in a very even and smooth fashion using specialized microcannulas. No skin is removed, so there are no unsightly long scars.

  • Patient Positioning: During treatment, two positions are used for each side. The patient is treated on their side and on their back while the arm is gently held away from the body.

  • Skin Tightening: Laser and radiofrequency are commonly added to promote skin tightening in patients with decreased elasticity.

  • Procedure Time: An isolated procedure takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. It is frequently combined with the arms, front bra roll, or back bra roll, which extends the total time to about 3 to 4 hours.

What is the Recovery Like After Armpit Liposculpture?

Soft compression foam pads are placed over the treated area, and a fitted compression garment is placed immediately after the procedure. You will recover at home.

  • First Shower: You will take your first shower two days (48 hours) after surgery.

  • Garment Duration: The compression garment is worn for a minimum of two weeks. It is worn longer if the procedure is combined with other areas.

  • Downtime and Healing: Most patients experience a quick recovery and return to work in a few days. Bruising is usually minimal. Some patients experience stiffness in the treated area during early recovery. Localized swelling is expected in everyone and slowly resolves over about three months.

  • Activity and Massage: Manual lymphatic drainage massage is recommended starting at one week. Normal exercise can typically be resumed in two weeks.

  • Follow-Ups: Follow-up appointments with the doctor take place at one week, one month, and three months. Follow-up photos are taken during the three-month visit, compared to preoperative photos in a side-by-side fashion, and shown to you during the full postoperative evaluation.

What is the Key to Successful Cosmetic Liposculpting?

Successful cosmetic liposculpting requires artistic vision, patience, and significant surgical experience. Armpit fullness does not exist in isolation. Armpit liposuction is frequently combined with arms, front bra rolls, or back bra rolls for a smoother overall transition between the chest, arm, and back. Patients want the area addressed in its entirety to achieve a natural, balanced shape.

What causes armpit fullness?

Armpit fullness is localized tissue that sits in and around the underarm and lateral chest. The tissue is mostly fat, but it can also include accessory breast tissue that may fluctuate in size or tenderness with the menstrual cycle.

Yes. Armpit liposuction is frequently combined with arms, front bra rolls, or back bra rolls for a smoother overall transition between the chest, arm, and back.

Arm liposuction sculpts and slims the upper arm from the shoulder to the elbow. Armpit liposuction specifically targets the localized fat and accessory breast tissue sitting in the underarm crease and lateral chest. The two are frequently combined for a smooth, unified transition between the chest, arm, and back.

The procedure uses tiny incisions placed discreetly within the natural armpit crease. There are no long incisions and no drains, allowing incision marks to fade into the natural folds of the underarm.
