Everything You Need to Know About Precision Liposculpting

Have you been consistently practicing a healthy diet and exercise routine for a while but still have yet to lose that last bit of stubborn fat?

If so, you could be a candidate for Precision liposculpting. Here’s everything you need to know about the procedure.

What Is Precision LipoSculpting?

Precision liposculpting, also known as Precision Sculpt, is a less invasive alternative to traditional liposuction. With Precision Sculpt, patients can permanently remove unwanted, stubborn fat deposits that won’t go away with diet and exercise.

How It Works

The Precision Sculpt procedure involves making tiny incisions in well-hidden areas in order to gain access to the unwanted fat areas.

We then use SmartLipo to both melt the fat and promote overall skin tightening. The melted fat is then removed through micro-powered cannulas.

Fat Transfer

You can combine your Precision Sculpt session with fat transfer. With this version of the procedure, removed fat is transferred to areas of the body where a fuller appearance is desired. Common areas include:

  • Buttocks
  • Breasts
  • Hands
  • Face

If you want to augment areas of your body or restore volume lost to the aging process,  a fat transfer procedure could be an excellent option for you.

Getting Rid of Loose Skin

Patients who have loose skin after fat removal can benefit from a procedure called Renuvion powered by J-Plasma.

Renuvion J-Plasma is a powerful procedure that offers both skin and soft tissue tightening technology. Radiofrequency is delivered just under the skin, which forces the skin to contract. This results in tighter, better-looking skin.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Precision Sculpt?

Patients who are within a healthy weight but have stubborn fat resistant to diet and exercise are candidates for laser liposuction. Those who are significantly overweight and have a lot of weight to lose are not candidates.

This is because Precision Sculpt is a body contouring procedure, not a weight loss procedure. With body contouring, the goal is to create slimmer, firmer contours in the body overall, not necessarily to lose weight.

Precision Sculpt could be right for you if:

  • You want a permanent body contouring solution
  • You were not satisfied with previous non-invasive body contouring procedures
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding at the time of your procedure
  • You do not have a medical condition that impairs your body’s ability to heal itself

The best way to determine whether Precision Sculpt is right for you is to contact our office so that one of our doctors or consultants can offer you personalized advice.

Why Fat Can Be So Stubborn

When you’re working hard to lose excess fat, it can be both frustrating and disheartening to continually not see desired results.

If fat is supposed to shed itself with proper diet and exercise, why is it so stubborn sometimes?

There are a variety of reasons why this could be.

Genetics

Some individuals have genes that make them prone to retaining fat and resistant to shedding it.

This has to do with your body’s metabolic system. Some people have efficient metabolisms which allow them to keep excess fat off, while others have to work a little harder.

Age

Age is another contributing factor. The older you get, the harder it can be to shed fat.

This is because the hormones that work to both regulate and distribute fat in your body start to become less efficient as you age.

Hormones

Hormones are another offender when it comes to stubborn fat deposits. If you have a hormonal imbalance, your body could cling to excess fat.

Luckily, no matter which of these you’re struggling with, Precision Sculpt can offer you a long-term solution that gets rid of that excess fat for good.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

At your Precision liposuction appointment, our team will begin with taking “before” photos. We will also map out and mark the treatment areas according to your treatment plan.

Before the procedure begins, we review the treatment plan with you to confirm your desired results.

Then, we administer a local anesthetic to increase your comfort and offer relaxing aids like oral medications or laughing gas.

Depending on the number of areas we’re treating during a single session, your procedure could take anywhere from one to four hours to complete.

After Your Procedure

After your Precision liposuction procedure, we will offer you a fitted compression garment to help with the healing process.

Precision Sculpt is an outpatient procedure, so you can return home immediately following your session.

Downtime and Recovery

There is a short recovery period associated with Precision Sculpt. We encourage lots of rest and self-care during the first few days following your procedure.

Most patients are able to return to work within a few days. However, except for normal, everyday walking activities, you should wait at least two weeks before adding vigorous exercise back into your routine.

Laser Liposuction vs. Traditional Liposuction

Traditional liposuction is performed under general anesthesia. It also requires the use of larger suctioning cannulas and larger skin incisions. Both of these mean the treatment sites are not as easy to conceal.

Precision is less invasive, more precise, and relies on advanced energy-based technology to get the job done as safely and efficiently as possible.
